YMCC got the contract for the repair and upgrade of an old mobile crane type P&H T180B of the year 1984.

The crane was not operated for a long time and it was in a poor condition. Eng.  Yousef Mousa ensured the crane was loaded on a lowbed trailer and brought to our yard in Amman.

To start with, the crane was thouroughly washed and then dismantling started with the front and rear brakes;

Brake drums were jammed and the brake knuckles had to be lubricated. Brake drums were sandblasted and painted with primer for the assembly.

Then the gearbox was dismantled and a new clutch plate replaced. Also the handbrake was fixed because it was not operational!

after the repair of the gearbox, the PTO can be actuated and the hydraulic pump helped for the dismantling of the outriggers cylinders:

New seals were mounted and stabilizers were fully operational back again.

The hook block and boom head sheaves were all dismantled and lubricated before assembly.

The telescopic boom cylinder was dismantled and a new seal kit was fixed.

Then the engine repair started; The fuel pump and injectors were serviced at a specialized shop. The piston ring and crankshaft bearings were replaced by a new set. Engine oil pump and water pump were serviced. The radiator was cleaned thoroughly and filled with coolant New thermos were fixed and all necessary seals and gaskets were replaced the make the engine run in a perfect condition. . .

Then the crane was sent to the sand blast Company for a full clean up of the old paint and dirts:

After the sand blasting, the real damage to panels and doors showed up clearly. The fabricator worked for 30 days on the damaged and worn steel panels and many of these were newly fabricated like the front bumper!

All door locks were repaired and internal door handles as well as new sliding window for the operator in both cabs.

The painting was the best part of the job.

Engineer Amer Mousa supervised the paint works from the beginning till the end to ensure everything was perfect.

All wheels were replaced by new ones and one of the old wheels was installed on a new rim and mounted on the side of the crane just like the original state when receiving the crane  from the factory.

A new hoist wire rope was replaced because the old one was too short and a load test was carried out to ensure all the repairs were done to be satisfaction of Mr. Yousef Mousa and the client.

All electrical connections were rectified and replaced were necessary. New lights on front and rear of the crane were installed. a back up alarm and reverse light were also installed.

The client was very happy with the end result and promised to send more equipment for upgrading at Yousef Mousa Crane Company workshops.

The whole operation took 4 months starting in June 2021 and completed in September 2021.
